When
dealing with individuals on a ‘one to one’
basis at the request of their employer:
- to
respect the special position of trust and confidentiality
created by such situations;
- to
recognise that the individual will have concerns about
discussing personal aspirations or self-doubts with
someone unknown to them;

create as risk free an environment as possible in
which to establish rapport;

understand that trust always has to be earned, it
cannot be commanded.
